IN VIVO PHARMACOLOGIST POSITION AVAILABLE

Job Summary

This position requires a highly talented and motivated individual with experience in in vivo PK studies. The incumbent will be conducting standard in vivo pharmacokinetics (PK) studies in rodents for evaluating novel compounds as part of a drug discovery services program for NoAb's clients. This involves proficiency in handling rodents, surgical manipulations, dosing and sample collection. The incumbent may also become involved in conducting and implementing in vivo studies in support of internal and collaborative research and development projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, lead and perform assigned in vivo client studies including, but not limited to, in vivo pharmacokinetics, serial CSF collection, microdialysis, brain penetration studies and other in vivo models
  • Record and document experimental details with a high level of integrity, ethics and accuracy.
  • Prepare data summary reports, interpret results and assists in preparing client reports.
  • Trouble-shoot, communicate and coordinate studies with other scientists in the laboratory.
  • Understand the needs of the clients and deliver the results within the expected timeline.
  • Conduct and lead internal R&D projects as required
  • Develop and implement new models as required.
  • Keep abreast of scientific advancements in appropriate areas, e valuating and implementing new technologies within discovery services
  • Participate in internal working groups ( eg . animal care committee, health and safety, etc).
  • Participate in the maintenance of an adequate inventory of supplies required for in vivo Discovery Services and a clean and orderly working environment

Requirements

  • MSc degree in a relevant field (e.g. Pharmacology, Pharmacokinetic, Veterinary Sciences, Biochemistry) with at least 3 years of direct experience
  • Experience in handling rodents, drug administration and blood sampling in rodents.
  • Experience in survival surgical techniques in rodents (e.g. catheterization).
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and to meet timelines
  • Ability to work in a safe environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in microdialysis would be an asset.
